Kilcoy Yowie Park Markets
The Kilcoy Yowie Markets are currently held in Yowie Park, Hope St. Kilcoy - the Northern Gateway to the Somerset Region.
The location of the Kilcoy Yowie Markets in Yowie Park has made this a popular venue for all on the second and last Saturday of each month. The current markets generally consist of food, wine, clothing, books, plants, fruit and vegetables, bric-a-brac and craft-type wares. And do not forget the award winning Yowie Coffee.
This market was commenced in 2004 by the Kilcoy District Historical Society. At that time, all proceeds were set aside for use by the Society for developing and maintaining their interests within the cultural precinct. The major interest has been to work with the former Kilcoy Shire Council, and now continuing with Somerset Regional Council (SRC) and the community at large, in preparation of a Development Plan for Yowie Park. To assist in this endeavour, the Kilcoy & District Cultural Village Committee Inc. (KDCVCI) was established out of the Kilcoy District Historical Society and the Kilcoy Art Society.
Currently, the KDCVCI has a licence with SRC to hold markets on the second and last Saturday of each month between the hours of 6.00 am and 2.00 pm. subject to continuing compliance with the council’s schedule of conditions.
