Gosford & Wyong Region Highlights & Essential Things To Do
Discover Your Local Gosford & Wyong Area
Gosford and Wyong are the ultimate places to go for those who want to experience a great time without the hustle and bustle of Sydney. Crisp air and warm sunshine welcomes visitors to dive straight into the magnificent beaches and delightful communities that flourish on the Central Coast.
Just one hour's drive north of Sydney, the Central Coast has a distinctive change of pace and place, perfect for a day trip or a longer escape. The majesty of the Australian landscape reaches its peak with the serene combination of beaches, wildlife and wilderness, each with their own unique qualities, energy and style.
The 5 Lands Coastal Walkway is a much-loved local attraction featuring a walkway tracing some of the Central Coast's most breathtaking coastline. Linking the coastal villages of Macmasters Beach, Copacabana, Avoca Beach, North Avoca and Terrigal, the 5 Lands Coastal Walkway is the perfect way to experience the natural wonders of the Central Coast while getting fit and having fun.
If you're looking for things to do that won't result in sweat, The Avoca Beachside Markets is held the fourth Sunday of each month at Heazlett Park Foreshore, against the picturesque backdrop of Avoca Beach. With bursts of colour and an array of high quality stalls where you can shop, dine and spend the weekend, this unique boutique market is a chance to showcase the local creativity right here on the Central Coast doorstep.
The award-winning Australian Reptile Park features NSW's largest crocodile, a giant Galapagos tortoise, a frightening alligator feeding from the banks of the massive 'gator lagoon and a funnel web milking demonstration. See native and exotic reptiles and spiders in unique exhibits, take a photo with a loveable python, wombat, or cuddly koala, and participate in a bunch of other hands-on activities. If the kids are tired of the adventure playground, they can hand-feed the friendly kangaroos that hop about the area while you sit back at the cafe or picnic area and treat yourself to a relaxing BBQ.
Take a scenic trip around the coast in style. Central Coast Ferries operate a regular ferry service between Woy Woy, Saratoga, Davistown and Empire Bay. A round-trip takes approximately an hour and visitors can take a break in their journey to see what's on around the historic region.
Need to keep the kids busy for a few hours? Introduce them to the Treetop Adventure Park, where anyone can be an adventurer! Flying foxes, rope bridges, and climbing through treetops are just a few of the fun activities suited for all ages and experience levels. From up high in glorious gumtrees, participants slide down and move from tree to tree on suspension bridges, and, if they're brave, tread the high-wires floating above the forest floor. You won't be forgetting the Gosford and Wyong region after a day of such epic proportions!
