Shelly Beach is a small alcove beach a short walk from Manly Beach. It is a lapping bay and often used for dive expedition by trainee divers. There is plentiful sea life to interact with and a secluded option to Manly’s tourist heavy beaches.
If you are willing to walk the one and a half km walk from the centre of Manly Beach, Shelly Beach is definitely a beautiful and peaceful spot. With a restaurant, kiosk and BBQ facilities, you can make a day of it.
Who should attend:
Families, couples and keen beach goers, looking for a secluded experience, away from the hustle and bustle.
How to get there:
Parking is available on Bower Rd (close to Shelly Beach), but it is limited and quite expensive. Parking on the North Steyne is marginally cheaper but it is a longer walk. Buses 136 and 139 frequent the Manly area regularly, as does the Ferry to Manly Cove.
