Manly’s North Head has a troubled past and the Q Station has preserved every awful moment. The guided ghost tours of the former Quarantine Station tell the horrors of carbolic acid showers and gas chambers to “clean the lungs of disease”.
The nurses, nuns and doctors haunt the old Hospital, with accounts of two nuns who had died from contracting plague being seen watching tour groups from their former residence windows. The Q Station is historic, creepy and intriguing; with lantern-lit tours ensuring guests are adequately perturbed by the real or imagined supernatural activity around them.
