Lakemba Mosque, otherwise known as the ‘ Imam Ali Bin Abi Taleb’ Mosqu, is one of Australia’s largest mosques and is used most commonly by residents of Lakemba and surrounding suburbs.
The mosque was completed in 1977 and is open for public prayer but also hosts a range of Islamic events and activities. Professional guided tours of the mosque are held to educate people on the basic tenets of Islam, the belief system, practices and also highlight the importance of mosques in the daily life of muslim individuals and their communities.
