Hindmarsh stadium, currently known as Coopers stadium, is the primary football (soccer) stadium in Adelaide. It currently hosts Adelaide United FC and in the past has been home to Adelaide City in the NSL and the failed Adelaide Rams of the NRL.
Hindmarsh Stadium is located just north west of the city centre in the suburb of Hindmarsh. The stadium was built in 1960 but was upgraded for the 2000 Olympics to a 17,000 seater so it could host several football group games as well as a quarter finals match.
Hindmarsh is reputed as being a great place to watch Football because its small and concentrated seating arrangement means a very loud sound output while at the same time everyone has a good vantage point of the game.
