White Night Melbourne 2013

Under the cover of a White Night locals and visitors will experience Melbourne as it’s never been before.
On Saturday 23 February 2013 all are invited to come out and encounter the city from 7pm to 7am.

From Brussels to Buenos Aires, Kyoto to Toronto, Paris to Rome, Melbourne will become one of more than twenty cities across four continents that brings the adventure of a White Night (Nuit Blanche) to life.

The city will come alive from dusk to dawn in a one night celebration of music, theatre, dance, design, food, film, fashion, sport and art.

Melbourne’s city streets will be transformed into a wonderland of light and sound, where spectacular illuminations and projections invite art and culture to rule the night. Cultural institutions, theatres, galleries, restaurants and bars will keep their doors open to provide extra special encounters in this nocturnal journey.

Discover or rediscover the city’s spaces including streets, laneways, public buildings and parks. Over 35 sites more than 100 projects by local and international artists, ranging from small intimate experiences to large spectacles, will offer a unique and remarkable experience within the city for all to enjoy.
