Clave Contra Clave: Grand Finale Brisbane

Clave Contra Clave is Australia's first national Live Latin Band Competition. It will take place in October 2012 over four massive nights of Latin music, showcasing the crème de la crème of Australia's hottest musical talent.

Bands from around the country go head to head performing world's greatest salsa numbers to the freshest original Latin music unheard beyond our shores, in a sheer demonstration of sophistication, skill, talent and musical diversity in the contest to unearth the nation's number one Latin ensemble. The bands will compete, for up to $25,000 in prize money, in their individual capital cities - Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney - for a place in the Grand Finale in Brisbane on the 27th October 2012. Winners of last year's competition, Canberra-based band Mi Tierra will tour to each city. Special international guest artists are due to be announced this month but if last year's guest appearances by legends from Buena Vista Social Club are anything to go by, we are in for a treat.

Produced by international gift-giving organisation Gift Abroad Qld, the event was created to celebrate Australia's lively and diverse Latin cultures.
