Easter Activities for Kids in Melbourne
No one looks forward to Easter more than children do. Knowing this, we’ve compiled a list of activities for them that won’t leave you anxiously guessing whether they’re having fun or not. We think these are the best places to take them in Melbourne – you could try to prove us wrong.
Unfortunately we can’t harness the extra Easter energy from children as an alternative power source. So while we wait for that technology to develop, you can take them to Luna Park instead. With so many fun rides and attractions for the kids, they couldn’t be bored even if they tried.
Just watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Take the kids to the closest thing to Willy Wonka’s wondrous chocolate factory. With waterfalls of pure chocolate, interactive chocolate art activities and exhibitions, it gives Roald Dahl’s imagination a run for its money. We would tell you more, but we’re experiencing technical difficulties because our keyboards aren’t drool-proof.
Have the kids been bathing in too much light from their iPads and video games? Show them how awesome nature is by taking them to the zoo this Easter. They’ll have the chance to step out of their comfort zones and get up close and personal with crocodiles and lions. Better yet, there are loads of educational activities and admission is free for children on weekends and public holidays!
Bunnies don’t lay eggs, but penguins do! Head over the aquarium for Easter. Over the past few years, Melbourne’s Sealife Aquarium has opened a special Easter exhibition where you and the kids can see how the penguins here celebrate Easter. If this year follows tradition, then expect a visit from the Easter bunny.
You don’t have to sacrifice having a good time to ensure the kids have fun. Take the whole family to Glow Golf in Docklands this Easter after the zoo or aquarium closes because, as the name suggests, this is a night activity. If you’re looking for a bit of a thrill, we recommend tyring the Coffin Ride. There’s something for people of all ages to keep the entire family entertained.
