Easter Activities for Kids in Canberra
Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate… It’s no wonder Easter is a favourite with the kids! Don’t just treat them to chocolate this year, treat them to a whole weekend of Easter fun.
AFTERDARK SCAVENGER HUNT 3-24 April 2015
Grab your most reliable team members (this will undoubtedly be the kids) and try your luck at the afterDARK Scavenger Hunt in the Australian National Botanic Gardens. Take to the gardens at night and search for hidden treasures. Once you’ve pieced the clues together and finished your hunt, enjoy toasted marshmallows around an open fire. Don’t forget to bring your torch and keep an eye out for animals!
With all that chocolate, there’s no doubt the kids are full of energy. Let them burn it off with a trip to Pod Playground! Kids can run, jump, climb, hide, and did we mention, run? All you have to do is sit back and enjoy the sound of their laughter. Why not bring along your four-legged child to join in on the fun as well? Don’t forget to pack your lunch and some chocolate, it is Easter after all.
All kids love Questacon, both big and small! Treat the family to scientific fun and games at everyone’s favourite science museum. Master the six metre free fall or challenge the kids to a game of air hockey. When you’re finished you can treat yourself to a slice of chocolate cake at the café or head to nearby Lennox Gardens for a picnic by the water.
EASTER STEAM EXTRAVAGANZA 3-6 April 2015
Take a train ride to Queanbeyan this Easter long weekend. Not just any train ride though, a steam train ride! Ride in Australian history and travel in style. Don’t forget to check out the rest of Canberra’s transport history in the Canberra Railway Museum while you’re there!
BRUMBIES V CHEETAHS 4 April 2015
Nothing compares to watching a footy match live! Catch all the action on and off the field and treat the family to a game of rugby. The Brumbies will take on the Cheetahs at GIO Stadium so grab a meat pie and settle in for an evening of big hits and even bigger points!
